The Tibiri Social Project
TravelCLICK supports the Tibiri Social Project
TravelCLICK is proud to support the Tibiri Social Project in Niger. Jan, President International of TravelCLICK, and Olivier, Regional Director of Sales for the South of Europe, went to Niger during May of 2007 to measure the impact of the collective effort and to better understand how TravelCLICK's partner Eau Vive works in the field.
Jan and Olivier started their visit in Tounga Oumarou, and also visited Hérédemtché and Rouga-Kouka-Kisso.
They met with Jean Bosco, head of Eau Vive in Africa and many of the Eau Vive staff, and had nothing but good things to say about the work being done, "The Eau Vive crew has been awesome with us...Just fantastic!!!"
Throughout the trip, they also met official delegations from most key cities in the region - including Tibiri. All along, and found that it was very important for those people to talk to us, thank us directly, and share the progress that was accomplished through time.

Background on The Tibiri Region of Niger
Tibiri is a region in the southwest of the Republic of Niger. The population, generally from the Haoussa, Peulh, and Zarma cultures lives from agriculture and raising livestock.
Water and the cleansing remain daily concerns. The main sources of water are traditional wells and ponds, but these sources aren't enough to meet the demands of the population and often expose people to desease.
The alarming situation has many harmful effects on the economic development of the villages, health, and causes lost time. For women and girls, the daily tasks of walking long distances and carrying water leaves them little time to go to school or carry out activities that generate income.
Groups like Eau Vive play a crucial role in reaching places like Tibiri since the resources of the government are very limited. In this context the work of Eau Vive has been crucial in villages such as Tounga Oumarou, Garin Oubandawaki, Salkamawa Banguiro, among others.
